Hello spriters! It's been a while, hasn't it? Since the last journal entry, new Pokemon games have come out that have disposed of sprites altogether in favor of some lovely, fully-animated 3D models... but that's not to say that Pokemon spriting is over by any means, since all of you continue to produce countless astounding works of pixel art. I'm going to take this time to promote some of the coolest deviations this group has received recently:
Water Starters by SirAquakip
Proof that even with the switch to 3d models, spriting isn't dead! These amazingly convincing sprites perfectly emulate the 6th gen style.
pokemon E: shinx luxio luxray by Noscium
For an unrevealed game project, these highly-detailed sprite renditions of X/Y models show masterful pixel skills.
Surging Wrath by Elyses
A beautiful pixel art of Gyarados, the varying line width and dramatically skewed proportions make it look marvelously ferocious.
[Miiverse] #709 - Trevenant by Taratos
Incredible 2-bit art done in Miiverse! That the artist managed to achieve such pixel-perfect precision on a 3DS is amazing.
Unifoal, Uniorse, Unidae (+ Mega-Evolution!) by ShiroShitoro
Wonderfully-detailed unicorn fakemon with two split evolutions, each with their own Mega Evo! The amount of work that went into these fakemon must have been tremendous, and it shows.
--------
Item 2: Since I am busy with school and infinipede is likewise indisposed, we're looking for an additional moderator to help with approving submissions. Said mod should have knowledge and experience in Pokemon pixel art, as well as a discerning eye for quality and making sure that it fits the submission rules. Those interested should send a note to the group or me (Involuntary-Twitch).
Okay, that's all! Happy spriting everybody

Searching For Contributors
Hello, Spriters!
It's been a busy couple of months for me, so I'm afraid I haven't been able to give this group the proper attention it deserves. People's submissions have expired due to a slow response time, so well-deserving sprites haven't made it into this group's gallery, which is just plain unfair to those who have worked hard on their art.
So, with that being the case, I'm opening up 3 NEW Contributor positions for anyone who wants to help out the group by helping to approve gallery submissions, adding tutorials and resources to the group favorites, or generally working to grow this community. If you're interested, let me know by lea

Hello! My name is Vaatiwithblue, and I wish to hire I team to help me work on this new project that I am doing! It is Pokemon Luna, a pokemon game I am working one (it's a fakemon game, yes) and I need some help! Here is what we are working on so far - docs.google.com/document/d/1ku… - a draft with most of the plans we have. We also have an engine that has the ability to make a Gen 5 pokemon game, and we have been able to have some pleasing results. however, we are missing some vital components to make our game a reality.
We need another programmer, an official artist (i'm the concept
Pokemon Acanthite: Spriters needed!
[Ad posted on behalf of !veritaslux (https://www.deviantart.com/veritaslux)]
Pokemon Acanthite is a fan-game project made in RPGMaker XP that has been in development for many years. After a long period of inactivity, it has recently seen a revival and is under new management, leading to an entire graphical overhaul, and they are releasing a demo very soon!
Pokemon Acanthite takes place in the Alanui region, home to many interesting and unique kinds of fakemon. The game promises to deliver a fresh spin on the Pokemon games that we all love.
They are looking for pixel artists to help with spriting fakemon designs, as well as trainers and overworld tiles. Artists who sign on t

I'd love to take the position!
I'm a sprinter myself and I don't mind approving deviations since I always clear my inbox all the time.
